Job Description

The purpose of this position is to assist in the management the operations of countywide athletic programming for both youth and adult sports. This class works under general supervision, independently developing work methods and sequences. The essential functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the class as necessary. Registers participants and inputs all athletic programming. Completes and/or assists in completing various forms to include field rental applications, reservations, attendance records and reports and related forms. Assists customers in organizing and scheduling athletic events. Collects fees, prepares receipts, and ensures proper handling of funds; counts and prepares daily money reconciliation. Works sports events to assist in coverage of occurring programs. Enforces safety procedures to ensure safe operation of equipment and employee safety. Transports workers, equipment and materials to and from work sites. Provides technical assistance and instruction concerning the operation and use of equipment and materials. Plans, schedules and adjusts projects and work procedures to meet deadlines. Receives and completes work orders for group and event set-up. Performs related work as assigned.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Requires Bachelor's degree or education and training equivalent to four years of college education in business, liberal arts, or any field other than engineering or the hard sciences. Over two years and up to and including four years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
SPECIAL CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES
IMPORTANT:
Submit a copy of certifications with application. Applications submitted without these items will not be considered. CPR/First Aid, AED Certification. Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license with an acceptable driving history. All applicants tentatively selected for a position with Beaufort County Council will be required to submit to urinalysis to screen for the illegal use of drugs and to a background check prior to appointment.
