Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and energetic Activities Assistant to join our dedicated team in enriching the lives of our residents. In this vital role, you will design, coordinate, and facilitate engaging recreational programs tailored to the interests and needs of seniors, including those with memory impairments or disabilities. Your enthusiasm and creativity will foster a lively, inclusive environment that promotes socialization, mental stimulation, and overall well-being. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of older adults while developing your skills in senior care and recreational therapy. Scheudle 8 hour shift with roatating weekends Responsibilities Lead a variety of engaging activities and events that cater to residents' interests, abilities, and care needs Assist residents with activities of daily living and social interaction to promote independence and dignity Manage activity schedules efficiently to ensure timely execution of programs while accommodating individual preferences and health considerations Foster a positive social environment by encouraging participation and facilitating group interactions among residents Monitor residents' responses to activities, providing feedback to care teams to enhance program effectiveness Maintain accurate records of participation, resident preferences, and progress for documentation and care planning purposes Skills Minimal experience in senior activities within assisted living or nursing home settings Excellent communication skills to engage residents effectively and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams Ability to assist residents compassionately while promoting independence Skilled in program development tailored for diverse needs across geriatric populations Effective schedule management skills to coordinate multiple activities seamlessly Compassionate approach with experience in aging issues counseling or social work related to senior care Join us in creating vibrant environments where seniors can thrive!
