Camp Widjiwagan of the YMCA of Middle Tennessee is Now Hiring for a
Recreation Assistant Position Type:
Part-time Pay Range starts at $17 per hour (or more depending on experience) Hey there, outdoor enthusiast We're the team at Joe C. Davis YMCA Outdoor Center , and we're looking for an energetic and service-minded Recreation Assistant to help bring our group events and retreats to life. If you love working with people, enjoy leading activities, and thrive in the outdoors, this could be the perfect role for you. As a Recreation Assistant, you'll help set up and lead activities like crafts, ropes, canoeing, archery, horseback riding, and more. You'll work closely with guests to ensure every activity is safe, well-organized, and fun—rain or shine. You'll also help keep program areas clean and ready, support your teammates, and make every guest feel welcome and cared for.
What You'll Bring:
Minimum age: 18 High school diploma or equivalent preferred At least 1 year of customer service experience preferred Strong communication and interpersonal skills A professional attitude, sound judgment, and a passion for creating great experiences Willingness to work outdoors and as part of a team
Certifications:
New Hire Orientation before your first shift Basic CPR/First Aid/AED within 30 days of hire or before your first shift with children Certification (Y-provided) in at least one specialty activity (e.g., ropes or archery) If you're ready to spend your days outdoors creating unforgettable experiences, we'd love to meet you.
