Job Description

This is a Part-Time, Seasonal (Non-benefited) role. Under general supervision, provides customer service and assistance to Athletic Club patrons and visitors by providing information, processing paperwork, and enforcing policies and procedures. Greets and assists walk-in patrons; answers phones; provides information regarding policies, procedures, and memberships; scans membership cards for check-ins and issues passes; updates attendance sheets for all classes. Assists members by providing information about clubs, programs, and registration for activities; collects fees and paperwork for memberships and renewals; maintains contractor sign in sheets; addresses member concerns and complaints. Supervises children in open play areas; assists with recreation programs as needed. Manages tennis and racquetball court reservations. Walks through facilities regularly to monitor activities; cleans equipment throughout recreation facilities; reports broken or damaged equipment; cleans and folds towels. May be asked to perform additional job duties that are directly, indirectly or completely unrelated to normal job functions in the course of presenting certain Town special events. Performs related duties as required or assigned.
Education :
High school diploma or GED equivalent; AND Two (2) years of experience in customer service; OR An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Conditions of Employment :
A valid Texas Driver's License is required and safe driving record. Must be AED, First Aid, and CPR certified, or obtain certification within six (6) months of appointment. Clear criminal background check and clear preemployment drug screen.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :
Customer service practices. Conflict management methods and techniques. Safety policies, procedures, and practices. Interacting with the public and patrons tactfully and professionally. Operating a computer including standard software and some specializes software. Completing multiple tasks simultaneously. Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships. Communicating effectively both verbally and in writing.
PHYSICAL AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed throughout assigned recreation facility and requires light exertion and prolonged periods of walking, sitting, and standing. Work is generally performed indoors in an air-conditioned facility but may also include limited exposure to outside weather conditions. May be exposed to potentially dangerous recreation and fitness equipment. Routine schedule is a rotating schedule with 24 hours worked in one week and 17 hours in one week for an average of 20 hours per week. Schedule may be modified if department needs arise. May be required to work overtime if needed.
