Job Description

Join the team at Ware Living Center as an Activity Assistant and make a meaningful difference every day. In this role, you will create and lead engaging, therapeutic activities that enhance the quality of life for residents. You'll help keep residents active, socially connected, and mentally stimulated through creative programming. This position offers the opportunity to build strong relationships with residents while gaining valuable experience in healthcare and caregiving. You'll collaborate closely with a supportive team of healthcare professionals, caregivers, and families to ensure each resident receives attentive, compassionate care. GENERAL DESCRIPTION
In collaboration with the Programming Coordinator coordinates and implements scheduled activities for assigned area.

Monday & Tuesday or Thursday & Friday Hours:
8:00am - 4:30pm
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION:
High School Diploma or equivalent
SKILLS:
Ability to work independently and implement the planned activity for area. Ability to work cohesively with peers and other employees. Ability to read, write, and speak English.
ESSENTIALS OF JOB
1. Leads and participates in the Life Enrichment Program. (constantly) 2. Ensures activities on assigned unit as scheduled. (constantly) 3. Monitors level of residents' functional abilities to maintain appropriateness of activities. (frequently) 4. Collaborates with Life Enrichment Coordinator and Programming Coordinator to adjust activity program to meet the needs of the residents. (frequently) 5. Acts as a resident advocate. (frequently) 6. Must be able to commit the time necessary from an attendance and punctuality standpoint to accomplish the above specified Essentials of Job. (constantly)
PHYSICAL/SPECIAL DEMANDS
1. Must lift or move up to 75 lbs. or more with assistance, occasionally; 50 lbs., frequently; 25 lbs., constantly. 2. Must be able to move throughout the facility. 3. Must be able to bend, stoop, grasp, lift, hold, and position self to reach floor level to six feet. 4. Must be able to push/pull up to 200 lbs. Ambulates residents, transfers residents to and from wheelchairs - resident's participation in ambulation and transfers not always reliable. 5. Visual acuity to prepare and assess reports. 6. Communicates with residents.
