Full Job Description Join our team as a Recreation Supervisor at Camp Margaritaville Resort Crystal Beach! We are a fun, family-focused resort where creating unforgettable experiences is at the heart of everything we do. As the Recreation Supervisor, you will lead the planning, coordination, and execution of guest activities, special events, and resort programming. This role is responsible for ensuring activities are engaging, organized, safe, and aligned with our commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences. In addition to overseeing daily recreation operations, you will support marketing initiatives, activity promotion, vendor partnerships, and guest communications to maximize participation and enhance the overall resort experience. Key ResponsibilitiesRecreation Programming & Guest Experience:
Plan, coordinate, and execute a variety of recreational activities including arts and crafts, games, sports, family events, pool activities, and special programming. Actively participate in activities and serve as a visible, engaging representative of the Recreation Department. Create a welcoming and inclusive environment for guests of all ages. Develop seasonal programming, holiday events, and special experiences that align with resort goals and guest preferences. Evaluate activity participation and guest feedback to continuously improve programming. Manage guest communications regarding activity schedules, delays, venue changes, or cancellations. Maintain the resort's commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences and uphold a strong guest-first culture.
Marketing & Activity Promotion:
Assist with promoting activities through on-site signage, digital platforms, and guest communications. Maintain and update guest-facing activity calendars, mobile app content, website calendars, arrival communications, and other informational platforms. Collaborate with the Marketing team to increase guest participation and awareness of resort programming. Maintain relationships with local vendors, entertainers, and activity partners. Support additional marketing initiatives and promotional opportunities as needed.
Leadership & Team Development:
Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise Recreation Attendants and seasonal team members. Provide coaching, development, and performance feedback to team members. Coordinate staffing schedules to ensure adequate coverage for all activities and events. Lead by example through active participation and hands-on support. Address team member concerns and provide timely solutions. Participate in Manager-on-Duty (MOD) rotations as assigned.
Operations, Logistics & Safety:
Manage setup, operation, and breakdown of activities, events, and recreational programs. Maintain inventory of activity supplies, equipment, and resources. Submit purchase requests and manage departmental supply needs. Ensure proper storage, organization, and maintenance of equipment and materials. Enforce safety procedures and resort policies during all activities and events. Coordinate with other departments to ensure proper scheduling, space allocation, and event support. Maintain accurate records related to participation, inventory, and program performance.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree in Recreation, Hospitality, Marketing, Event Management, or a related field preferred. CPR and First Aid Certification preferred. 1-2 years of supervisory or leadership experience in recreation, hospitality, entertainment, guest services, or a related field preferred. Experience planning and coordinating activities, events, or guest programs. Strong organizational and time management skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Friendly, outgoing, and energetic personality. Ability to lead a team while maintaining a positive and engaging guest presence. Bilingual English/Spanish skills are a plus. Ability to work independently and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Schedule:
Flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends, holidays, and peak season hours based on resort operational needs. Participation in special events, holiday programming, and Manager-on-Duty rotations is required.
