POSITION DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
Operate and maintain all recreational facilities and activities associated with the clubhouse in a world class fashion. Responsible for the daily operations of the Fitness Department with emphasis on the coordination and development of programs, personnel training, testing, spa treatments and youth activity programs.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Organize and conduct wellness/fitness classes as may be appropriate throughout the year to include personal training on as needed basis. Coordinate special events for Fitness & Aquatics and Youth Activities. Prepare annual calendar of wellness/fitness activities and coordinate the same Actively monitor all member services to ensure standards of operations constantly meet or exceed the established guidelines. Ensure a consistent new Member Orientation Program is offered to our membership. Provide personal training, fitness evaluations and consultation to member/guest in a professional manner. Oversee and create Youth and Team programs. Prepare annual budgets for all areas of responsibility. Responsible for setting and maintaining standard operating procedures by company Such as: schedules, fair employee treatment, employee uniforms and the clubhouse standards as prescribed in the standard operating policies and procedures. Oversee the staffing and programming of Fitness Center. Advise staff on fitness testing and training procedures. Conduct employee performance appraisals as required. Promote, commend, transfer, discipline and recommend termination of employees within the recreational facilities of the clubhouse. Enforce all club rules and regulations governing the use of recreational facilities. Advise management on fitness testing methods, modern equipment and pertaining laws. Assure pools, locker room, aerobic area, playground, sport court area, weight room, and Kid's Kamp are inspected on a daily basis prior to the start of day and ascertain that all maintenance has been performed. Prepare and implement an on-going training program for employees and schedule monthly staff meetings. Perform all designated duties in a cordial, efficient and professional manner, always maintaining a commitment to member satisfaction by being attentive to and taking immediate action to all member/guest concerns, problems and requests. Receive and review all departmental financial reports on a monthly basis. Verify for accuracy and make proper corrections and changes. Supervise inventory management and cost control through purchasing, receiving, transfers and merchandise at a reasonable level commensurate with members' needs. Assist with the upkeep, safety, and maintenance and inventory of the testing equipment, computer, weight room equipment, and to work cooperatively with maintenance personnel who service the equipment. Must demonstrate a positive attitude at all times Must provide outstanding customer service to all internal and external customers Working Conditions Should be able to teach fitness/aerobics classes; should be physically fit.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Prefer Junior College or College Degree Three years in the fitness industry. Management experience in fitness is required. Aquatics and kids activities experience preferred.
CERTIFICATION/LICENSE
Instructor and/or Personal Trainer Certification recognized by the American College of Sports Medicine and or National Certification. CPR and First Aid certified.
