Part-Time Summer Camp Counselor (June-July) - Lufkin

QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
Take 8-hour CPR course on a Friday prior to the start of summer camps or present proof of current CPR certification. Take online Sexual Harassment Course prior to the start of summer camps. Complete Camp Counselor training prior to the start of summer camps.
Preferred:
Some college hours (preferably in Child Development or Education) Experience working with children Current CPR certification

Expectations:
Interact with a diverse student population. Promote a positive work environment among colleagues. Work as assigned between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday, during the months of June and July. Comfortable interacting and working with children. It is the intent of the basic job requirements, duties, and responsibilities that these minimum requirements should therefore, be referred to as a guide for, rather than a limitation to the services required.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The position will report to the Chair of Continuing Education for job responsibilities and other College related activities as outlined in the Policies and Procedures Manual. Essential duties include but are not limited to the following: Work with other camp counselors to assist in instructing summer camps Escort campers between camp locations and drop-off, lunch, and pick-up locations Check in and greet students and parents in the morning, and check out and greet students and parents in the afternoons Work camp hours as assigned by the office of the Chair of Continuing Education, not exceeding 19.5 hours per week Attend a pre-camp orientation meeting the first week of June
CONTRACT & SALARY
$12.50 per hour in addition to excellent employee benefits. Proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States must be verified for the successful candidate.
