Summary As a Kid's Camp Counselor at Midland Country Club, your primary objective is to ensure the safety, engagement, and well-being of children participating in Kid's Camp West 2026. You will help create a fun, inclusive, and memorable summer experience for children up to 14 years old. Counselors are expected to be role models, encourage positive interactions, and facilitate a variety of recreational and educational activities that foster personal growth and teamwork. Overview The ideal candidate will play a key role in ensuring that children at Kid's Camp West 2026 enjoy a summer full of memorable and enriching experiences. This position requires strong attention to detail, punctuality, professionalism, and a genuine passion for working with kids. Counselors must be energetic, creative, and able to adapt activities to suit various age groups and interests. Teamwork, positive communication, and a commitment to providing a safe and supportive environment are essential. Responsibilities support the success of our kids program by working collaboratively with parents, club staff, and members. Applicants should exemplify appropriate conduct, high service standards, and a commitment to upholding the values of Midland Country Club. Responsibilities Ensure the safety and well-being of all campers at all times. Plan, lead, and participate in a variety of recreational, educational, and creative activities, both indoors and outdoors. Foster a positive, inclusive, and respectful environment that encourages campers to try new things and build friendships. Serve as a role model by demonstrating positive behavior, teamwork, and effective communication. Communicate regularly and professionally with parents, staff, and club members regarding camper needs or concerns. Assist with the daily setup and cleanup of camp areas and equipment. Respond quickly and appropriately to emergencies or incidents, following established club protocols. Supervise campers during all scheduled activities, transitions, meals, and free time. Contribute to a fun, organized camp atmosphere by helping with special events and theme days as needed. Attend all required training sessions and staff meetings prior to and during the camp season. Qualifications Must be available to begin training on June 2, 2026, and work the full camp season from June 8th through August 14th, 2026. Experience working with children in a camp, educational, or recreational setting is strongly preferred. CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain prior to camp start). Strong sense of responsibility, initiative, and ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Flexibility to work weekdays, with occasional evenings or special events as needed. Ability to remain positive, enthusiastic, and patient in a fast-paced environment.
