Fitness and Wellness Coordinator The Fitness and Wellness Coordinator is responsible for planning and organizing the fitness program to enhance the physical and emotional well-being of residents. Along with other members of the Lifestyle Department and community associates, the Wellness Coordinator delivers outstanding customer service and develops an enriching community program for the residents that integrate resident needs and interests into their daily routines. Responsibilities:
Works within the Lifestyle program to promote safety and the well-being of all residents Implement standards of exercise, wellness, and senior health at the community Oversee accurate documentation concerning resident participation in the wellness program Lead and instruct exercise classes Create personalized wellness plans for residents Oversee the fitness center to ensure it is operated in a safe manner for the benefit of our residents
Skills/Requirements:
Required:
High school diploma or GED Previous experience as an exercise instructor, personal trainer, or one or more year experience teaching aquatic exercise classes Certifications in CPR, AED, and Group Exercise Certification reflecting specialized training in fitness and exercise Positive, enthusiastic, professional communication skills, and multi-tasking skills Experience working with computer and various computer software to include, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Publisher Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively with residents, families, guests, and other associates in English Must be physically able to respond to medical emergencies in all areas of the community and be able to assist with resident evacuations
Preferred:
4 year degree or certificate in sports science or exercise studies preferred 1 or more years of experience working with senior adults in a similar role Certifications from
ACE, ACSM, AFAA, ASFA, NSCA
