Job Description

Ready to Start Your Career with the City of Temple? Summary Under the supervision of a Program Coordinator or Recreation Specialist, this position will be responsible to develop and/or lead various recreational activities and assist patrons with registration. Must be available to work flexible hours and schedules to include weekends and holidays. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Ensures the safety and well-being of program participants Provides excellent customer service to patrons, renters, and the public (phone and in-person) Develops, leads, and supervises general recreation programs, activities, and special events Opens and closes various facilities and performs attendant duties Maintains essential records and prepares reports Receives payments and records registration/membership information Uses internal system to track patron attendance and program finances Performs daily administrative tasks (cleaning, filing, sorting, answering phones, copying) Conducts pre/post event rental checklists with renters Assists with the setup, cleanup, and breakdown of programs, events, and activities Serves meals and snacks to program participants as needed Supervises and enrolls customers in general recreation programs for all ages across various areas (childcare, fitness studio, courts) and at events Adheres to City financial controls while enrolling customers and selling Recreation Center memberships Ensures all membership guidelines, procedures and controls are followed Follows administrative, financial, and safety policies Performs other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications Completion of two (2) years of high school One (1) year of experience as a recreation leader or a related role Preferred Qualifications One (1) year experience working in a related field Bilingual in English and Spanish Certificates and Licenses Valid driver's license CPR and First aid or able to attain within 90 days Food handler license or able to attain within 90 days Thank you for your interest in the position.
