A Recreation or Activities Worker leads tours and vacation trips in outdoor or wilderness areas. Leads hiking, rafting, canoeing, climbing or diving activities for a group. Provides specialized knowledge about the history, terrain, ecology or wildlife for the tour. Manages transportation, equipment and provisions and assists with cooking.
The purpose of this position is to provide customer service, instruction and set up of a variety of recreation programs and activities. This is accomplished by working with the Senior Zone clients and public answering questions, phones, assisting in sign ups, coordinating participation, providing fitness instruction. Set up and tear down of materials and equipment for programs, instructor lead programs, tournaments, and special events. Enforce safety precautions, administer first aid, clean and stock entire facility. Other duties include prepare refreshments, monitor supplies, post publicity, conduct tours, solicit volunteers, enforce policies, assist with overnight and day outings.
CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Food Handlers certification, CPR/AED and First Aid Certification or must be able obtain within 30 days of date of hire.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Must be computer literate with a typing speed of 25 wpm. Pre-employment testing will be administered.

Maintain Health Department standards. Dust walls, furniture and clean glass. Sanitize all equipment. Organize paperwork, maintain records, and restock supplies from existing stock. 4 L Perform customer services in answering questions in person and on the phone, registering sign ups utilizing the ActiveNet program, coordinating participation and ensuring policies are followed. Organize and prepare program documentation, recruit volunteers, handle money, act as liaison between Senior Zone clients, the public, and the City management. Participation and assistance in preparation with over night and day trips.
