$14.00-$15.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications Position Summary The J-Fit Kids Club Attendant provides a safe, welcoming, and engaging childcare environment for children while their parents or guardians participate in fitness and wellness activities at the Pozez JCC of Northern Virginia. The Attendant is responsible for supervising children, leading age-appropriate activities, maintaining a clean and organized space, and delivering exceptional customer service to members and guests.

9:00 AM - 2:00 PM Additional hours may be available during holidays and special events. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Supervise children at all times to ensure a safe and positive environment. Engage children in age-appropriate activities, games, crafts, and creative play. Greet and interact professionally with parents, children, and members. Follow Kids Club check-in and check-out procedures. Enforce Kids Club policies and behavior expectations. Respond appropriately to accidents, injuries, or emergencies and complete required incident reports. Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary childcare area. Inspect toys and equipment regularly to ensure safety. Communicate concerns regarding children, safety, or facility operations to the Aquatics Director. Support holiday programming and family-centered events as needed. Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment that reflects the mission and values of the JCC. Qualifications Required Must be at least 16 years of age. Reliable, punctual, and responsible. Ability to work independently while maintaining a high level of attentiveness. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work positively with children, families, members, and staff. Supervision Requirement Applicants who are 18 years of age or younger may be considered for employment. Staff members who are 18 years of age or younger will work under the direct supervision of a designated JCC staff member who is at least 18 years old. An adult staff member (18+) will be present and available at all times during operating hours when a minor employee is on duty. Minor employees must follow all Kids Club policies and procedures and may not be left solely responsible for the operation of the Kids Club. Preferred Previous experience working with children in a childcare, camp, preschool, recreation, or similar setting. CPR, First Aid, and AED certification, or willingness to obtain certification upon hire. Knowledge of age-appropriate games and activities for children. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and actively engage with children throughout the shift. Ability to lift and move up to 30 pounds.
