Camp Counselors will help create a safe, structured, and fun environment where children can participate in sports, games, and enrichment activities while building confidence, teamwork, and friendships. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working with children, leading group activities, and being active in a fast-paced camp setting. Essentials Duties and Responsibilities Supervise and actively engage with campers throughout daily activities Lead and assist with sports, games, and recreational activities Ensure camper safety and maintain appropriate supervision at all times Support daily camp schedules, transitions, and routines Set up and clean up equipment and activity areas Encourage participation, teamwork, and positive behavior Communicate professionally with campers, parents, and staff Assist with behavior management using positive reinforcement techniques Help maintain a fun, inclusive, and structured camp environment Support special events, field days, and themed camp activities Qualifications Positive attitude and passion for working with children Strong communication and interpersonal skills Energetic, dependable, and team-oriented Ability to follow directions and work in a structured environment Previous experience in camps, childcare, coaching, or education preferred but not required Ability to work flexible daytime hours during camp seasons Preferred Qualifications Experience working with youth in recreational, educational, or sports settings CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain) Knowledge of basic sports and group games Experience working with elementary or middle school-aged children Physical Requirements Ability to stand, move, and actively participate throughout the day Ability to lift and carry light equipment as needed Ability to supervise outdoor and indoor activities in various conditions Work Environment The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
