Job Description:
Job Description The fitness Assistant monitors the fitness spaces in the Weinstein Center for Recreation and Wellness to ensure cleanliness, safety, and supervision of the facility and its members. Assists with the daily operations of the facility and circulates during shift, maintaining a visible presence in the facility, with a focus on monitoring the upstairs and downstairs fitness spaces. Assist members with questions on how to use equipment properly. Provide safety assistance in the weight room (spotting) as needed. Perform preventative maintenance of fitness equipment (ensure members re-rack weights, clean equipment, organize multipurpose rooms and stretching spaces, etc.). Accurately explain policies & procedures related to group exercise, personal training, and fitness special events. Ensure all facility supplies are maintained (paper towels, hand sanitizer, sanitizing wipes, cleaning spray bottles). Work with the On-duty Facility Supervisor to access supplies. Enforce policies and procedures, and provide customer service by answering any questions members may have while on the floor. Assist with any setup/breakdown or special projects as assigned Collect towels from all towel bins, locker rooms, and sheets from the massage room Wash, dry, and fold towels to maintain inventory on racks Report maintenance and other repair needs to the Equipment Manager, Fitness Manager, and/or On-duty Facility Manager Serve as a first responder in the event of an emergency in the Weinstein Center. Attend and participate in departmental employee training programs.

QUALIFICATIONS
: Knowledge, skills & ability : Current CPR/AED certification required within 30 days of hire Ability to read, interpret, and enforce policies and procedures Education & experience : Some High School Previous experience in a recreation facility preferred Schedule varies. Some evenings and weekends
