This role ensures a safe, clean, welcoming, and efficient environment for members, guests, staff, and program participants. The MOD serves as the primary leadership presence during operating hours and supports customer service, staff supervision, facility safety, and emergency response procedures. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Serve as the acting supervisor for all facility operations during assigned shifts. Provide exceptional customer service and resolve member or guest concerns professionally and promptly. Monitor facility activity to ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and safety standards. Supervise front desk, aquatic, fitness, and support staff as needed during shifts. Conduct opening and closing procedures, including facility inspections and security checks. Respond to emergencies, incidents, accidents, and member concerns in accordance with established protocols. Complete incident and accident reports accurately and in a timely manner. Support enforcement of pool, fitness, and facility rules to maintain a safe environment. Assist with scheduling adjustments, staff coverage, and operational communication. Ensure cleanliness and organization throughout the facility. Monitor attendance, program operations, and facility usage during events and peak hours. Coordinate with department managers regarding operational issues and maintenance concerns. Support special events, rentals, swim meets, and community programs as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor's degree preferred. Previous supervisory or leadership experience in recreation, fitness, aquatics, hospitality, or customer service preferred. Strong communication, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills. Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in emergency situations. Basic knowledge of facility operations, customer service standards, and safety procedures. CPR/AED and First Aid certification required or ability to obtain within designated timeframe. Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification preferred but not required. Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and flexible schedules as needed. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to lift up to 40 pounds occasionally. Ability to respond quickly to emergencies throughout the facility. Ability to work in indoor pool and recreation environments with varying temperatures and humidity levels.
