Job Description

We are looking for a creative and energetic individual who is passionate about providing fun, safe, and engaging recreational experiences for youth. This position plays a key role in planning, coordinating, and leading County-wide recreation programs, including weekly summer camps, while supervising staff, volunteers, and participants. Work Schedule:
Split Shift Schedule 6:15 AM - 8:45 AM and 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM Hours between shifts will be dedicated to administrative duties, program planning, staff coordination, and other assigned responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
Assists with the development, planning, implementation, and evaluation of recreation programs for assigned populations; engages in problem-solving activities as needed. Assists with organizing activities, procuring materials and supplies, recruiting participants, preparing and distributing promotional information, and securing community support. Assists with preparing and implementing budget recommendations for activities as assigned. Prepares and maintains program documentation as required by the Parks & Recreation Department. Assists with inventory management for the Division as needed. Produces activity reports and other reports and projects as needed. May drive a County vehicle. Performs related duties as assigned. Must be at least 18 years old. Must possess a high school diploma or GED; an associate degree is preferred. Must possess a valid Driver's License. Experience working in a school setting and/or managing child care programs is preferred. Knowledge of community first aid and safety with Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Medication Administration Training (MAT). Knowledge of computer programs such as Excel, Word, Outlook, and the ability to learn the RecTrac system.
Physical Demands:
Must be able to walk, stand, sit, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, climb, balance, lift, push, pull, and perform repetitive hand movements. Regularly lifts and moves equipment and materials weighing up to 30 pounds.
Environmental Demands:
Both indoor and outdoor work is performed in variable weather conditions. Exposed to high or low temperatures and wet/humid conditions.
