Designs, supervises, coaches, and instructs a variety of group exercise programs (e.g., Step, Spin, Wer Aerobics) inside and outside of the various fitness facilities in the assigned workout areas. Assists with fitness and MWR events (competitions, challenges, races). Instructs prons on the proper use of all equipment for training and self-monitored progress by preparing written instructions and procedures for the performance of work, use of equipment, safety and well-being of all involved. Assists prons on the fitness floor by providing training tips in order to prevent unsafe or ineffective exercise techniques. Prepares written instructions and procedures for performance of work, use of equipment, safety, and well-being of all involved. Provides instructions on the proper implemention and maintenance of conditioning and training programs for aerobic fitness, muscular fitness, body composition, and flexibility training . Conducts fitness testing, which includes measuring aerobic capacity, body composition, muscular strength, flexibility, muscular endurance, and blood pressure. Stays current with lest fitness programming ideas to increase tendance and improve customer sisfaction. Conducts fitness oriention classes which include providing prons with a tour of the facility, reviewing rules and regulions, and introducing prons to cardiovascular, free-weight, and resistance machines . Establishes/reviews the schedule of events, conducts tours, sets-up/prepares gymnasiums/facilities/playing fields prior to scheduled start time for fitness events . Ensures adherence to regulions and safety procedures.
CFL/FEP/NOFFS/Program:
Provides certified group exercise services to active-duty military as outlined in the Navy's Physical Readiness Program instruction. Assists with the instruction of the Command Fitness Leader course and fitness reled general military training. Works with various command representives to develop and implement physical fitness programs for military personnel. Assists Fitness Director and/or Coordinor with outreach and implemention of Navy Operional Fitness and Fueling Series (NOFFS), Mission Nutrition/ Command Fitness Leader Courses, and other CNIC Headquarters supported/endorsed programs.
Facility/Equipment Maintenance:
Ensures facility and sporting fields are open and/or closed the posted time . Monitors and checks the security of premises . Monitors activity within the facility, circuling among the prons to assist with basic use of equipment/gear and to maintain good order and discipline . Ensures hletic playing surfaces are properly maintained, safe, and ready for play . Assists in properly cleaning and maintaining equipment/facilities, maintains inventory, performs general janitorial services to ensure interior spaces are in a clean, ne, and orderly ste all times (e.g., sweeping and mopping floors; dusting and cleaning workout areas, mirrors, bhrooms, and locker areas; straightening equipment and accessories, etc.) . Makes minor repairs to facilities and equipment when approprie and assists with outdoor maintenance . Reports/records maintenance problems, merial deficiencies, and unsafe conditions or discrepancies th cannot be repaired in-house to the supervisor . Performs other duties as assigned . Requirements Help Conditions of employment A high school diploma or equivalent. A primary certificion from an accredited health/fitness organizion. Certificion in a specific physical activity program in which they instruct (e.g. yoga, cardio dance programs) f rom a commercial/industry health/fitness organizion.

Fitness instructor, personal trainer or certificion from a NCCA accredited health/fitness organizion Incumbent must possess or be able to obtain the following within 60 days of hire : Cardiopulmonary Resuscition and First Aid Certificion Automed External Defibrillor Certificion Blood-borne Phogen Training Navy Basic Fitness Certificion Qualificions Knowledge of the safe use and operion of fitness equipment, facility operions, and basic fitness equipment maintenance/repair. Skill in planning and carrying out an enhanced program in the recreion specialty area which meets the needs of the participing community. Skill and ability to provide fitness training and programming to individuals and groups of various sizes. Skill in the use of Microsoft Office Programs (e.g., Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook). Ability to competently and independently carry out fitness programs through the proper applicion of principles, concepts and techniques of recreion to sisfy specific needs of the community to be served. Ability to conduct accure fitness testing and provide recommended fitness program, based on fitness goals. Ability to prepare clear, concise, and technically sound reports reled to work within the Branch. Ability to develop and effectively deliver presentions and/or training. Ability to communice effectively both orally and in writing. Work requires lifting, pushing, pulling, recurring bending, stooping, stretching, twisting and utilizing all major muscle groups in demonstring physical fitness techniques, equipment and teaching group exercise classes in a frequently hot/humid environment.
