Job Description
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Plans and implements engaging and age-appropriate riding lessons for campers, including: Informing of and enforcing all riding safety measures, Assessing camper's skill levels, Teaching riding skills and choosing activities that use these skills, Providing progression, challenge, and fun for each riding level, Opportunities for spontaneous activities when safe and practical, Instruction of horse-related topics through ground lessons, Special activities such as horse shows, horse activity nights, overnights, etc.
Responsible for the daily feeding, watering, and health care of horses
Responsible for the care and maintenance of all riding and horse-related equipment
Provides active supervision of staff and campers while at riding activities
Guides teen leaders in learning experiences related to riding activities at camp
Helps with emergency measures or first aid, as necessary Secondary Job Responsibilities
Serves as a support staff member to the counseling staff of Wrangler (riding program cabins), helping with general activities as needed
Assists where assigned on camper check-in and check-out days
Knows of and adheres to Camp Sealth policies and procedures
Adheres to emergency, health, and other plans adopted by the camp, assuring first and foremost each camper's and staff member's safety
