Job Description

A Sports & Recreation Internship at the Oshkosh YMCA is an opportunity for students to build upon their skills working directly with our sports league participants while applying classroom knowledge and personal experience in a professional setting. The Sports Management Intern will work under the guidance of the Sports Director and Coordinator to deliver day to day customer service to all sports league and program participants. The intern will assist with coordinating programs, develop and distribute marketing materials, and engage in soft skill development through communication with program participants, parents, and YMCA members. They will also gain coaching experience, with assistant coaching during our various youth sports leagues. A student that meets the internship requirements through their program/department, enrolled in an accredited four-year University who is successfully pursing a degree in an appropriate discipline in the sports management field. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication skills both verbally and written. Flexibility and willingness to take on diverse roles and responsibilities. Ability to multi-task in pressurized environments. An interest and passion for sports. 14-16 weeks of work experience. (This is dependent on university-specific requirements.) Required 10-20 hours per week.
