Responsibilities Summary:
The Assistant FSQA Manager is responsible for directing and supervising a group of employees involved in the quality control program designed to ensure continuous production of products consistent with established standards. Essential functions (responsibilities, tasks, supervisory needs) Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions. Develops and/or adapt inspection equipment to meet quality control standards, make suggestions about procedures, standards, and equipment to facilitate work and maintain product quality. Analyzes facts or circumstances surrounding individual problems to determine what action should be taken within the limits of standard practices. Responsible for compilation and maintenance of inspection reports and records. Investigate and determine cause of faulty work and consult and advise production supervisors as to corrective measures. Keeps manager abreast of significant issues or developments identified during quality assurance activities and actions being taken to improve the situation. Effectively recommend as to hiring, promotions, wage adjustments and terminations Responsible for ongoing verification of Specification/Work Order agreement to ensure proper execution of the daily production schedule Provide ongoing oversight of all HACCP monitoring and verification activities to ensure CCP Critical Limits are achieved Plans and assigns work of QA team in coordination with the QA Manager. Respond to complex customer inquiries with accurate, legally defensible, and standardized information. Qualifications Required Qualifications (education, years of experience, KSAs) 3+ in a Quality Assurance Field or supervisory experience in the seafood industry. Knowledge of HACCP regulations, Food Safety, and Audit procedures required
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. HACCP certification Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry Able to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations Strong understanding and knowledge of inspection and Quality Control methods, techniques, and equipment Ability to use of a wide variety of measuring instruments and complicated drawings.
Physical demands:
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time at a desk. Frequently required to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to talk or hear. The employee will occasionally stand, walk, and may lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include near vision for frequent use of a computer.
