Job Details:
Operations Management Trainee (OMT) This is a developmental leadership role designed for recent graduates or individuals with 1+ year of relevant experience in manufacturing, production, agriculture, poultry, food production, or operations environments. The OMT will work closely with plant leadership to support production operations, analyze performance metrics, identify improvement opportunities, and help drive safety, quality, and efficiency initiatives.
Schedule:
Primarily 1st shift Will spend time on 2nd and 3rd shifts to learn operational processes and gain exposure to all areas of the business
Key Responsibilities:
Analyze production and operational metrics to identify trends and improvement opportunities Support process improvements related to safety, quality, yield, and efficiency Troubleshoot operational issues and recommend solutions Partner with HR, Maintenance, FSQA, and Accounting on plant initiatives Provide leadership support through project management, line oversight, and gap coverage Assist with staffing, production planning, and resource allocation Drive continuous improvement and cost-saving initiatives Develop leadership skills and influence team performance without direct authority
Ideal Background:
Associate's degree or higher (Bachelor's preferred) in Operations, Agriculture, Animal Science, Poultry Science, Food Science, or a related field Equivalent practical experience (1 year) may be considered Internship, academic project, or hands-on experience in production, manufacturing, agriculture, or live operations environments Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills Leadership potential and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Additional Information:
No direct reports, but expected to lead projects, production lines, and workflow activities Up to 12 trips per year (approximately once per month) Basic Excel skills required; SAP experience is a plus
