Kitchen Manager BB.Q Chicken Buena Park, CA Job Details Full-time From $24 an hour 7 hours ago Qualifications Kitchen health and safety standards Cooking Kitchen management Full Job Description We're a casual, full-service Korean fried chicken restaurant looking for a hands-on Kitchen Manager to lead daily kitchen operations. We need a dependable leader who takes pride in food quality, stays organized during busy service, and communicates clearly with the team. You'll work alongside our cooks while overseeing preparation, cooking, cleanliness, and service flow. You'll partner with the General Manager on scheduling and staff needs, with ownership and management handling broader administrative responsibilities. What you'll do Work cooking and prep stations while directing the kitchen team during service. Organize prep and station assignments so the kitchen is ready for each shift. Maintain consistent recipes, portions, presentation, and cooking standards. Coordinate with front-of-house staff to keep orders accurate and moving efficiently. Train new employees and coach existing staff on kitchen procedures. Set clear expectations, address performance concerns professionally, and report issues to management. Maintain food safety, storage, labeling, cleaning, and opening/closing standards. Monitor product availability and waste, and communicate supply needs to management. Ensure kitchen tools and equipment are properly used, cleaned, and stored. Help the General Manager plan kitchen schedules and staffing coverage. What we're looking for Experience cooking in a busy restaurant kitchen. Previous experience as a kitchen lead, shift supervisor, kitchen manager, or similar role. Ability to give clear direction, provide constructive feedback, and follow through. Strong organization, food safety knowledge, and attention to consistency. A calm, practical approach to busy shifts and everyday problems. Willingness to cook, prep, clean, and help wherever needed. Availability to work evenings and weekends. Fryer experience and familiarity with Korean food are helpful. Experienced kitchen leads ready to step into their first manager role are encouraged to apply.
