Lancer's Family Restaurant & Lounge, a family-owned Burbank diner serving the community since 1962, is seeking a motivated, hands-on Assistant Manager to help lead our team and move the business forward. We're looking for someone who is passionate about hospitality, takes initiative, and brings both strong leadership and fresh ideas. You'll work closely with the General Manager and ownership to improve operations, support our staff, and create a welcoming experience that keeps guests coming back. Key Responsibilities Lead front-of-house and back-of-house teams with visible, hands-on leadership. Help improve daily operations, systems, and service standards. Assist with recruiting, training, and retaining a strong, accountable team. Elevate the guest experience to encourage repeat visits and attract new business. Contribute fresh ideas for promotions and community initiatives. Handle guest concerns with confidence, professionalism, and care. Oversee opening and closing duties, cash handling, and shift reports. Help ensure compliance with food safety, alcohol service, and labor requirements. Be actively present on the floor and support the team during morning, evening, and weekend shifts. Who You Are Energetic, dependable, and motivated to help the restaurant succeed. Qualifications At least two years of experience as a front-of-house restaurant manager required. Strong knowledge of front-of-house and back-of-house operations. Valid California Food Handler and Responsible Beverage Service certifications. Experience with POS systems; Toast experience is a plus. Ability to perform duties involving prolonged standing and lifting up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation. High-volume, diner, or legacy restaurant experience is a plus. Language & Availability English and Spanish proficiency preferred. Day and night shift availability is preferred. Availability to work weekends and holidays required. Why Join Lancer's?
