THE ROLE
We're looking for a seasoned General Manager to take full ownership of our restaurant — top to bottom. This is not a hands-off role. You'll be the standard-setter, the culture-builder, and the person our team looks to every single day. WHAT YOU'LL OWN
People & Culture Full-cycle hiring: sourcing, interviewing, selecting, and onboarding all staff Training and developing team members to meet Zecto's service and operational standards Managing performance, issuing corrective actions, and making termination decisions when necessary Building a team culture rooted in accountability, positivity, and pride in the work Scheduling all FOH and BOH staff to ensure proper coverage without overstaffing Operations Oversee all daily restaurant operations from open to close Ensure the highest standards of food quality, cleanliness, and guest experience are consistently met Monitor and enforce all food safety, sanitation, and health code compliance Manage alcohol service compliance, including RBS regulations and ID verification protocols Conduct line checks, pre-shift meetings, and end-of-day evaluations Troubleshoot operational issues in real time and implement lasting solutions Financial & Inventory Own the
P&L:
labor costs, food costs, waste reduction, and overall profitability Manage inventory — ordering, receiving, tracking, and reconciling all food and supply levels Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or guest experience Review and analyze sales reports, labor reports, and KPIs on a weekly basis Handle cash management, deposits, and end-of-day reconciliation Guest Relations Set the tone for hospitality — every guest should leave better than they arrived Personally handle escalated guest concerns with professionalism and urgency Monitor online reviews (Yelp, Google) and respond promptly and thoughtfully Build a loyal guest base through consistent, memorable experiences Leadership & Communication Serve as the primary point of contact between ownership and the restaurant team Communicate clearly with ownership on performance, staffing, challenges, and opportunities Lead by example on the floor — this is a working GM role Foster an environment where team members feel supported, heard, and motivated•
WHO YOU ARE
3+ years of restaurant management experience, with at least 1-2 years as a GM or AGM Proven track record of building and retaining strong teams Strong financial acumen — you understand food cost, labor cost, and how to move the needle Calm under pressure with exceptional problem-solving instincts A natural leader who holds high standards without creating a toxic environment Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive Knowledgeable about food safety regulations and health code requirements Experience with POS systems, scheduling software, and inventory management tools RBS certified or willing to obtain certification (required for alcohol service in California) Open, flexible availability — this role requires presence during peak hours, weekends, and as needed•
