Free short- and long-term disability insurance and life insurance 2-4 weeks of paid vacation 401K with a match Mission of role We're looking for a Manager on Duty (MOD) to oversee shift execution and help ensure flights are completed on time by identifying delays, shortages, and operational risks early. You'll coordinate corrective actions with Supervisors and Shift Leaders, escalate issues when needed, and maintain visibility across the operation to support safe, timely, and reliable execution. This role sets clear expectations during each shift, reinforces accountability, and supports effective handoffs across a 24/7 operation. Functions and Responsibilities Lead shift meetings and hourly operational reviews to assess production status, risks, and priorities Monitor flight progress against schedule, including start times, percent complete, and projected on-time completion Identify operational constraints such as staffing gaps, food or supply shortages, equipment issues, dish room backlog, and other barriers to execution Coordinate countermeasures with Supervisors and Shift Leaders, assign accountability, and follow up on completion Escalate unresolved or high-risk issues to the appropriate Manager or General Manager in a timely manner Maintain and update operational tracking tools to communicate current flight status, delays, shortages, and action items Review carryover issues from prior shifts and ensure effective shift handoff communication Support continuous improvement by tracking recurring issues, monitoring trends, and contributing to root-cause and corrective action discussions Make cross-functional operational decisions during off-hours within established standards and escalation guidelines while promoting safety, quality, productivity, and customer service expectations Qualifications & Educational Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required; additional college coursework or a degree in operations, supply chain, business, or a related field is a plus Experience in airline catering, food production, logistics, manufacturing, or another time-sensitive operational environment Working knowledge of production scheduling, operational flow, and shift-based execution Ability to interpret operational status, identify risks, and drive timely follow-up to support on-time performance Basic to intermediate Microsoft Office skills, including Excel Availability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, holidays, and extended shifts as business needs require Join us in our mission to uphold the highest standards of quality in our products while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
