Job Description
Bar & Floor Operations Manager - Badlands San Francisco Castro District | LGBTQ+ Nightclub Badlands San Francisco is seeking an experienced, dependable Bar & Floor Operations Manager to help oversee our late-night nightclub operations. This is a hands-on management position focused on running the bar and floor, supervising staff, maintaining strong guest service, managing nightly operations, and helping with the administrative, promotional, and programming side of the business. The ideal candidate is someone who can take ownership of a busy nightclub shift, lead employees professionally, solve problems as they arise, and help keep the venue organized, compliant, and operating efficiently. Schedule Thursday through SundayApproximately 9:00 PM to 3:00 AMLate nights and weekends required Compensation $25-$35 per hour Key Responsibilities Manage overall bar and floor operations during peak nightclub hours Supervise bartenders, barbacks, door staff, security, and other support staff Monitor service, staffing levels, employee performance, breaks, and floor coverage throughout the night Ensure bars are properly stocked, organized, clean, and operating efficiently Maintain high standards of customer service and address guest concerns when necessary Assist with opening and closing procedures, cash handling, banks, deposits, and nightly closeouts Help prepare employee schedules, find coverage, make staffing adjustments, and manage call-outs Assist with payroll, timekeeping, employee records, and other administrative responsibilities Help ensure employees remain compliant with California Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) requirements and other applicable ABC regulations Monitor responsible alcohol service, ID procedures, intoxication concerns, and compliance with company alcohol policies Help maintain compliance with company policies, required breaks, timekeeping procedures, safety standards, and other California workplace requirements Work with security and door staff to address guest issues and de-escalate situations when necessary Review surveillance footage when needed for operational issues, employee concerns, or incidents Ensure significant incidents and employee issues are properly documented and reported to senior management Assist with hiring, training, coaching, and developing employees Help plan and execute promotions, special events, theme nights, entertainment, and nightclub programming Work with DJs, performers, promoters, and staff to help execute scheduled programming and events Help identify opportunities to improve attendance, guest experience, promotions, and overall nightclub operations Provide clear nightly management recaps to ownership and senior leadership Work closely with ownership and senior management on continued improvements to the venue Qualifications Prior bar, nightclub, restaurant, hospitality, floor management, assistant management, or supervisory experience preferred Nightclub or high-volume bar experience strongly preferred Strong understanding of bar operations and guest service Ability to supervise and lead multiple departments during a busy shift Comfortable handling employee issues, guest concerns, and difficult situations professionally Strong organizational and communication skills Ability to remain neutral and professional when managing employees Reliable and able to consistently work late nights and weekends Comfortable learning scheduling, payroll, compliance, promotions, and other administrative functions Must obtain and maintain required California RBS certification
