Position Summary:
Reporting to the Vice President of Operations, the General Manager is responsible for leading all aspects of hotel operations while creating an exceptional lifestyle hospitality experience for guests and team members alike. This role oversees the property's financial performance, operational excellence, team culture, and guest satisfaction, ensuring every touchpoint reflects The Coachman's unique personality and connection to the South Lake Tahoe community. The ideal candidate is a hands-on hospitality leader with a passion for boutique lifestyle hotels, guest engagement, and building high-performing teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership Responsibilities Provide strategic leadership for all hotel operations, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, strong financial performance, and alignment with Rebel Hotel Company's values. Lead, coach, and develop department leaders while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and service excellence. Champion the property's lifestyle identity by delivering memorable guest experiences through personalized service, curated programming, and community engagement. Drive operational excellence across all departments, including Front Office, Housekeeping, Engineering, Food & Beverage, and guest amenities. Build strong relationships with ownership, guests, local businesses, tourism partners, and the South Lake Tahoe community. Recruit, develop, and retain top talent while promoting employee engagement and professional growth. Lead by example with a visible, hands-on management style that supports both guests and team members. Administrative Responsibilities Oversee the hotel's financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, labor management, expense control, and profitability. Develop and execute annual operating, capital, and business plans to achieve revenue and market performance goals. Monitor key performance indicators and implement strategies to improve revenue, guest satisfaction, and operational efficiency. Ensure compliance with company policies, brand standards, safety regulations, and all applicable federal, state, and local laws. Partner with Sales, Revenue Management, and Marketing to maximize occupancy, ADR, and total hotel revenue. Maintain the property's physical condition while continuously identifying opportunities to enhance the guest experience.
Required Skills, Experience and Knowledge:
Five (5) or more years of progressive hotel leadership experience, including prior experience as a General Manager, Hotel Manager, or Director of Operations.
Required:
Experience leading a boutique, lifestyle, independent, or resort hotel. Demonstrated success creating exceptional guest experiences through personalized service, programming, and lifestyle-focused hospitality. Strong operational knowledge across all hotel departments with the ability to balance guest satisfaction, team engagement, and financial performance. Proven financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, labor management, and P&L accountability. Experience leading, coaching, and developing high-performing leadership teams. Excellent communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment while embracing innovation and continuous improvement. Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.

Salary Range :
