Assistant Manager Residential Care Center - 5.0 Spring Valley, CA Job Details Full-time $40,000 - $45,000 a year 13 hours ago Qualifications Staff supervision Social service program staff supervision Cooking Filing High school diploma or GED Driver's License Working with individuals with mental health conditions Facilities maintenance Full Job Description Qualifications Must be 21 years of age or older. Requires a minimum of one year of previous work experience in Community Care Facilities, Social Work, or a related field involving resident caregiving, including clients diagnosed with mental illnesses.
Must obtain prior to hiring:
a minimum of 15 college or continuing education semester units (or equivalent quarter units) in human behavior or other relevant certification or experience, High School Diploma or equivalent, fingerprint background clearance, first-aid training, physician's report, T.B. clearance, and elder abuse training. A held and maintained valid driver's license with a good driving record and insurance to drive the facility van and provide client transportation for appointments or activities is preferred. Required to lift 50 pounds. Strong communication, organizational, and supervisory skills are required and will be evaluated during hiring. Administrative & Communication Liaison Act as the secondary point of contact for staff, drafting clear internal communications and assisting the manager with paperwork, phone calls, and correspondence with physicians, case managers, and other professionals. Make daily reports to the manager regarding residents, staff, and the facility. Supervise staff work and behavior toward residents, and organize extra work duties when needed. Title 22 & Regulatory Compliance Ensure all resident files contain up-to-date documentation, including Medical Assessments, Needs and Services Plans, signed Admission Agreements, and Rights disclosures. Assist with the oversight and verification of mandatory reporting obligations, drafting written notifications for unusual incidents for the Manager's review prior to submission. Verify proper completion of monthly fire and earthquake drill logs across all shifts. Facility Operations Support Enforce facility House Rules, visitor logs, and resident safety guidelines, drafting violation notices for the Manager's review and approval. Make frequent rounds through the facility. Be "on-call" as arranged with the manager and responsible for the facility when the manager is out. Assist with the monthly physical plant walkthrough by gathering a monthly list of items requiring repair. Assist with routine audits of centrally stored medications, disposal/sharps logs, temperature tracking, and kitchen compliance. Responsible for assisting with medication log-in, dispensing, ordering, documentation, and destruction. Fill in on day, night, weekend, or cook shifts when needed, and arrange holiday work schedules with the manager. Responsible for the cleanliness of the facility. Resident Care & Community Relations Assist with initial intake screenings, facility tours, and processing resident complaints or community feedback in a professional manner. Screen and assess clients in coordination with the Manager and create behavioral health goals for the clients. Maintain active communication with case managers, psychiatrists, and authorized representatives regarding service plans, and coordinate care with other team members. Supervise residents, observe their behavior at all times, and notify the manager of any inappropriate activity, or changes in health, eating habits, or sleep. Oversee the cleaning and preparation of rooms when residents are discharged or admitted. Responsible for overseeing resident personal hygiene, supervising or assisting with bathing, washing clothes and linens, and teaching good living skills such as making beds, cleaning rooms, doing laundry, and cleaning dressers and closets. Plan, arrange, and encourage residents to participate in facility activities, and assist clients in reaching out to community resources. Provide counseling and assistance to residents if needed, and maintain a professional, courteous relationship with residents at all times. Weigh residents on a monthly basis.
