Job Description
Job Overview We're looking for an Operations Manager who takes ownership, leads by example, and enjoys building strong teams. This person will oversee the daily operations of our busy café while creating an exceptional experience for both our guests and employees. In this pivotal role, you will oversee daily operations, ensure exceptional customer service, and maintain high standards of food quality and safety. Your leadership will drive efficiency, foster a positive team environment, and elevate the overall guest experience. Responsibilities Manage all aspects of café operations, including food preparation, service flow, and staff scheduling to ensure smooth daily functions. Supervise and train team members on food handling, POS systems, and customer service best practices. Oversee inventory control, food safety protocols, and sanitation standards to uphold health regulations and minimize waste. Manage inventory and place weekly food and suppy orders. Receive, organize, and rotate deliveries. Ensure daily opening and closing procedures are completed. Monnitor labor efficiency and communicate staffing needs. Support both kitchen and front of house needs. Coordinate shift management by assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and ensuring timely service during peak hours. Lead efforts in team development through interviewing, onboarding new hires, and conducting performance evaluations. Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction by addressing guest concerns promptly and ensuring consistent quality of food and service. Step into kitchen or cafe shifts whenever needed. Protect owner's time by handling day to-day operational issues independently. Experience Proven management experience in quick service or fast food restaurant environments with a strong background in food preparation and kitchen management. Extensive knowledge of POS systems (square); experience with cash handling and financial reconciliation is essential. Demonstrated leadership skills in supervising hospitality teams within casual dining or fine dining settings; experience with staff training & development is highly valued. Familiarity with food safety standards, inventory control procedures, and food industry regulations. Prior experience managing restaurant operations including shift management, budgeting, profit & loss analysis, and team leadership. Background in catering or banquet services is a plus; barista or coffee experience can be advantageous for roles involving beverage service. Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate teams, manage conflict effectively, and ensure seamless restaurant management. We're looking for someone who wants more than a job.
