Bar / Front of House (FOH) Manager Job Overview Black Canyon Catering is seeking an organized, energetic, and hands-on Bar & Front of House (FOH) Manager to join our leadership team at our high-volume wedding venue in beautiful Estes Park, Colorado. This role oversees all front-of-house and bar operations for weddings and special events, leading bartenders and banquet staff while ensuring exceptional guest experiences and seamless event execution. The ideal candidate is a confident leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, develops high-performing teams, and maintains exceptional service standards Black Canyon Catering is known for. No two events are the same, so we're looking for someone who is adaptable, solutions-oriented, and able to stay calm under pressure while leading by example. Responsibilities Team Management Lead, supervise, and inspire bartenders, banquet captains, banquet staff, and front-of-house team members before, during, and after weddings and special events. Serve as the primary FOH leader during events, ensuring professional execution and maintaining a calm, positive atmosphere. Coach employees through real-time feedback while communicating performance, attendance, scheduling, and disciplinary concerns with the General Manager. Assist with onboarding and training new front-of-house team members. Train staff on service standards, responsible alcohol service, POS systems and event expectations. Build weekly staffing schedules that align event needs with labor and service standards Event Operations Serve as a visible leader interacting with wedding couples, guests, and vendors. Resolve guest concerns quickly, professionally, and with a hospitality-first mindset. Review Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), timelines, floor plans, bar requirements, and service expectations prior to each event. Conduct pre-event team meetings to review assignments, timelines, guest counts, special requests, and service expectations. Coordinate closely with the Event Coordinator, Culinary team, and Banquet Captain to ensure seamless event execution. Monitor event flow, adjust staffing as needed, and ensure events remain on schedule throughout service. Serve as the closing manager for assigned events by completing final walkthroughs, verifying cleanliness and organization, securing the venue, and preparing the property for the next event. Complete end-of-event manager reports, document incidents or maintenance concerns, and communicate follow-up items to the General Manager and leadership team. Bar Operations Oversee all bar operations, ensuring consistency, speed of service, and responsible alcohol service. Manage beverage inventory including ordering, receiving, storage, rotation, monthly inventory counts, and purchasing beer, wine, liquor, mixers, garnishes, and bar supplies based on upcoming event needs. Ensure bars are fully stocked, organized, and presentation-ready for every event. Utilize Toast POS for beverage sales, cash handling, reporting, drawer reconciliation, and end-of-event financial closeout procedures. Enforce responsible alcohol service and monitor guest consumption when necessary. Maintain bar cleanliness, organization, and sanitation standards in accordance with health department regulations. Client Beverage Planning Serve as the primary point of contact for wedding couples regarding specialty beverage requests, custom cocktails, and special-order alcoholic beverages. Coordinate specialty beverage requests with wedding couples by researching availability, obtaining General Manager approval for pricing and product selection, coordinating ordering and receiving, and ensuring successful event-day execution. Ensure all approved specialty beverage requests and pricing are accurately documented on the Banquet Event Order (BEO) and client invoice. Qualifications & Skills 2+ years of leadership experience in hospitality, catering, events, restaurants, hotels, or banquet operations. Strong knowledge of bar operations, beverage service, inventory management, and responsible alcohol service. Experience leading teams in fast-paced, high-volume environments. Proficiency with POS systems (Toast experience preferred). Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills. Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills with both guests and team members. Ability to multitask, adapt quickly, and remain composed under pressure. Experience with staffing, scheduling, interviewing, coaching, and employee development. Knowledge of food safety, sanitation standards, and health regulations. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and remain on your feet for extended periods. Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required by the event schedule. Why Join Black Canyon Catering?
