MANAGER - MAX'S OYSTER BAR
Max's Oyster Bar, West Hartford, CT has been dedicated to providing a great dining experience while delivering high quality dishes. Max's Oyster Bar, is located in a prominent town in CT, West Hartford. This location has won awards for their popular seafood menu, bustling weekend nights and great service from our staff. This location offers an upscale menu and hosts several event dinners throughout the year focusing on fresh, local seafood and specialty wines. The location handles high volume and does require a candidate that can handle the pressure and volume, keeping staff on track to maintain the customer experience. The candidate will be tasked with following established guidelines, procedures, and policies for food and beverage safety controls as prescribed by company standards. He/she will interact with guests and staff in a cordial, efficient, helpful and professional manner. Restaurant Managers are responsible for resolving guest issues, cash handling, deposits and following opening/closing restaurant procedures. In addition, the manager will have authority to QSA items to ensure a world class dining experience for guests. The ability to drive sales, manage accurate Togo orders, understand third party delivery systems, along with previous experience with Toast, and OpenTable are preferred. Mangers will train other staff, assist in interviewing, hiring, discipline and coaching staff as needed. The person in this role will be engaging with our guests with a friendly and helpful demeanor. Lead weekly manager meetings, assist the Managing Partner/General Manager with reporting and daily premeal meetings. The ideal candidate for this position has at least two years of experience in a restaurant establishment. Wine and cocktail knowledge is preferred. He/she has previous experience handling money, POS knowledge, recruiting, interviewing, discipline and ability to handle resolving customer issues with grace. The schedule is a 50-hour work week of five days on and 2 days off. Strong verbal and written communication skills, good time management, and professional behavior are a must for this position. The ideal candidate will become knowledgeable of all dishes and drinks, understanding allergen concerns, come to know our staff and become aware of the VIP and repeat guests. Candidate will need to be ServSafe and Tips certified within 90 days of hire. A personable attitude with the ability to work in a high energy, fast paced environment is key to being successful in the restaurant.
