Tailwind Concessions is a national company with locations spanning coast to coast, committed to delivering exceptional food and service to travelers from around the globe. As a leader in airport food, beverage, and retail, we're looking for an experienced Kitchen Manager who's passionate about crafting delicious food, leading a high-performing team, and delivering a memorable culinary experience in one of the nation's most iconic train stations. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Partner with the Head Chef to lead and develop a high-performing kitchen team Train, supervise, and coach kitchen staff to deliver consistent food quality, presentation, and great service Demonstrate solid culinary technique across multiple cooking disciplines, including fryer, flat top grill, and sauté station Monitor food preparation to ensure consistent quality, taste, and presentation in line with Wolfgang Puck standards Promote a positive guest experience, resolving any issues professionally and quickly Ensure food quality and service standards are met, taking action where needed Enforce all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines to maintain a safe work environment Ensure safe, responsible, and legal serving of all alcoholic beverages Assist in scheduling kitchen staff and communicating work assignments Maintain stock levels by calculating inventory, ordering and retrieving supplies, and stocking as needed Ensure equipment is maintained per restaurant safety and preventive maintenance programs Evaluate cost-effectiveness of all aspects of kitchen operations Minimize loss and misuse of product and resources All other duties as assigned
Qualifications/Skills:
Minimum 2 years of culinary experience; kitchen management experience strongly preferred Proficient in food safety standards, sanitation practices, and kitchen equipment operation Strong knife skills and manual dexterity (chopping, slicing, dicing, cutting) Organized and detail-oriented with the ability to handle the demands of a fast-paced, high-volume environment Ability to stand for extended periods, handle extreme heat, and work varied shifts Capable of reaching, bending, and frequently lifting up to 50 pounds Must have the stamina to work a minimum of 40 hours per week, including mornings, evenings, and some weekends
