Job Description

General Manager Rosé Café & Bakery | Arcadia, Florida Job Overview We are looking for a stellar, energetic General Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of Rosé Café & Bakery. This is an opportunity for an experienced restaurant professional who is ready to take the next step in their career. You do not need to know everything on day one. We are looking for someone with strong restaurant experience, natural leadership ability, a great work ethic, and the desire to learn the business at a deeper level. We will train the right person on our systems and help develop you in areas like labor management, food cost, inventory, P&L, profitability, team development, catering, and restaurant operations. Our goal is to give you the tools to become an exceptional restaurant operator, not simply someone who manages shifts. At the same time, this is not an entry-level management position. We need someone who already understands restaurants, can confidently lead a team, and is ready for real responsibility. And there's another major perk: Restaurant management without the typical restaurant schedule. Rosé is a breakfast, brunch, and lunch concept and closes at 2:30 PM every day. This position is primarily daytime hours with very few nights. What You'll Do As General Manager, you will ultimately take ownership of the day-to-day operation of Rosé Café while working closely with ownership.
Your responsibilities will include:
Lead daily restaurant operations and ensure smooth, efficient service Lead, coach, train, and develop both FOH and BOH employees Hire, interview, onboard, and retain great team members Hold employees accountable to Rosé's standards Create schedules and manage staffing based on sales and business needs Monitor sales, labor, food cost, waste, inventory, and other key restaurant metrics Learn to understand and utilize restaurant P&L statements and financial reporting Manage inventory and ordering while maintaining appropriate stock levels Control waste and maintain portioning standards Oversee cash handling, POS procedures, comps, refunds, and daily financial controls Maintain excellent food quality, presentation, ticket times, and guest service Ensure food safety, sanitation, cleanliness, and health department standards are consistently met Handle guest concerns and resolve problems professionally Address employee issues and conflicts confidently and professionally Ensure training procedures and operational systems are followed consistently Oversee catering orders, large orders, and occasional private events Identify problems, determine their cause, and develop solutions Work with ownership to improve efficiency, profitability, systems, and team performance Most importantly, this is a hands-on management position. We're a small, fast-paced restaurant. Our GM should be just as comfortable reviewing labor numbers as jumping onto expo during a Sunday rush, helping the storefront, supporting the kitchen, running food, or helping wherever the team needs them. There is no "that's not my job" mentality here. What We're Looking For Strong restaurant experience is required. We are especially interested in someone with: Strong front-of-house experience Some back-of-house/kitchen experience Previous restaurant leadership or management experience Experience leading and developing employees, not simply acting as manager on duty A strong understanding of hospitality and customer service Excellent communication and conflict-resolution skills Strong organizational and multitasking abilities A sense of urgency and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment An understanding of food safety and restaurant sanitation Experience with inventory, ordering, labor, food cost, or restaurant financials is a major plus Catering or private-event experience is a plus The ability to recognize problems and take initiative without constantly being directed You do not need to be a chef or already be an expert in every aspect of restaurant financial management. We can teach systems. We can teach numbers. We can teach the Rosé way of doing things. What we need you to bring is restaurant experience, leadership, accountability, initiative, and the desire to become really good at running a restaurant. Schedule This is one of the biggest advantages of the position. Rosé Café closes at 2:30 PM every day, so our GM works a primarily daytime schedule with very few nights. Occasional evenings will be required for private events, catering, meetings, or special circumstances, but nights are not the norm. Every Saturday and Sunday is required. Weekends are our busiest days, and having our GM present during our busiest services is non-negotiable. In exchange, you'll have weekday time off and a restaurant-management career that doesn't require spending five or six nights a week at work. Growth We aren't looking for someone to simply fill a management position. We're looking for someone who wants to become an exceptional restaurant operator. You'll work directly with ownership to learn the business behind the restaurant, including labor management, food cost, inventory, profitability, P&L, staffing strategy, operational systems, catering, and team development. As you learn the business and demonstrate results, the expectation is that you'll take greater ownership and independence over Rosé's daily operations. If you already have a strong restaurant foundation and are ready to level up from managing shifts to truly learning how to run a restaurant, we want to meet you.
