If you're looking for a basic bar job, this isn't it. American Social is a high-volume, bar-forward restaurant where great food, great drinks, and a room full of people who want to be there come together every single night. We're looking for an Assistant General Manager in Tampa who can run that room — and who wants to run their own one day. THE JOB You're second-in-command. You run services as the manager on duty, and when the General Manager is off, the restaurant is yours. Same standards, same decisions, same energy. You also own the things that keep a restaurant honest: inventory, receiving, back office and invoices, cash and audit controls, facilities and maintenance, and keeping the hiring pipeline full so we're never staffing from a hole in the schedule. When those are clean, everything else gets easier. That's your job. And you're on the floor. Service, bar, kitchen — you work across all three, you hold all three to standard, and you earn the respect of all three.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Run services as manager on duty, and lead the restaurant when the GM is out Open and close, and own the shift report and the handoff Own inventory counts, receiving, invoices, cash controls, and period close support Run preventive maintenance and catch building problems while they're still small Support hourly recruiting, onboarding, and training completion across every department Handle escalated guest issues and make it right Hold the team to our standards on safety, sanitation, responsible alcohol service, and appearance Partner with the Service Manager, Bar Manager, and Executive Chef — support them, cover for them, never take over their departments

WHAT YOU BRING

3+ years managing in a high-volume, full-service restaurant, running shifts on your own Working knowledge of both front and back of house You've owned something real — inventory, receiving, cash, or a schedule written to a labor budget You can read a report, find the problem, and build a plan Comfortable with POS, back office, and scheduling systems, or quick to learn them Food safety and responsible alcohol certifications, or able to get both within 30 days Organized enough to finish paperwork in a restaurant that never stops moving Nights, weekends, and holidays — this is hospitality

NICE TO HAVE

Bar-forward or late-night experience Time in an $8M+ restaurant Prior department manager experience in service, bar, or kitchen Toast, Restaurant365, or Harri Spanish

THE REAL TALK

This job is loud, fast, and physical. You'll be on your feet all shift, lift up to 50 pounds, work nights and weekends, and get the call when the alarm goes off at 2am.
