March 2026 Job Description We are looking for a Food Production Manager to lead the hot food production in accordance with applicable federal, state, and corporate standards, guidelines, and regulations with established policies and procedures. Essential Functions- Provide direction, guidance, and supervision to supervisors to enable them to work more effectively.
- Knowledge of hot food production processes.
- Improve production process to increase productivity and process controls.
- Ensure food ready time is met daily for meal processing and packing.
- Ensure no shortages occur and all special meals are produced to specifications.
- Ensure portion control is accurately measured and managed by supervisors and employees.
- Train employees and supervisors in production processes and measurements.
- Proactively manage employee relations issues to resolve them effectively and promptly.
- Provide counsel supervisors in effectively handling employee relations issues.
- Ensure controls are in place to manage food costs and report waste.
- Measure and manage productivity in the department to identify areas for improvement.
- Manage rotation of produced cold meals and hot meals to minimize waste.
- Manage rotation of bulk food production to FIFO
- Hold regular communication meetings with employees to review production results.
- Hold regular communication meetings with employees to review safety & hygiene.
- Prepare and post employee shift schedules and changes.
- Manage production schedules and processes to minimize overtime.
- Manage workforce accountability and ensure employees have the tools needed for production.
- Ensure that HACCP standards are achieved, and control documents are completed.
- Knowledge of internal policies and procedures.
- Competent in working independently within the area of expertise.
- Knowledgeable of safety requirements and strives to maintain a safe work environment.
- Effectively gives and receives feedback; willingly asks questions and seeks direction, as needed.
- Must be able to function within a team environment as well as independently. Skills and Qualifications
- Minimum of a
B.A./B.S.
degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.- Food Service experience required.
- A minimum of 4-5 years supervising a food & hot kitchen production environment.
- Knowledge of Food Industry quality and sanitation standards and requirements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proper use of English verbally and written is required.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, and Excel) Supervisory Responsibility This position has supervisory responsibilities.
