Job Description

Do you believe that a clean kitchen is a healthy kitchen? The Center for Benedictine Life at the Monastery of St. Gertrude has an opportunity for a responsible individual to lead our Kitchen staff.
This is a full-time position:
working 32-40 hours per week. The Kitchen Manager contributes to the Center for Benedictine Life by guiding and participating in the preparation of breakfast, dinner (midday meal), and supper daily for the sisters and residents of the monastery, for the guests of our 22-room retreat center, and for the employees in this community. Tasks are assigned by the Kitchen Manager and shared by the kitchen team. Responsibilities include leading the kitchen team, managing the daily meal preparation, planning the weekly menus, ensuring safety and quality standards, maintaining cleanliness, minimizing food waste, ordering groceries and supplies, and serving as the kitchen point of contact for the residential community members and the Monastery of St. Gertrude ministries.
Requirement:
5+ years managing a commercial kitchen (or equivalent).
