SERVICE MANAGER
Join the Panther Team! Pleasant Hill School District #69 is seeking a dedicated, organized, and student-centered Food Service Manager to lead our school food service program. This position plays an important role in ensuring our students receive nutritious, high-quality meals in a safe, welcoming, and positive environment each day.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Lead and oversee daily breakfast and lunch operations. Supervise, schedule, train, and support food service staff. Prepare and serve nutritious meals that meet USDA and ISBE requirements. Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary kitchen and cafeteria. Monitor food quality, portions, temperatures, and meal service. Manage food, supply, and equipment inventory. Order food and supplies and monitor deliveries. Maintain accurate meal counts, production records, temperature logs, and other required documentation. Monitor food service expenditures and help manage the program budget. Ensure compliance with USDA, ISBE, health department, HACCP, and other applicable requirements. Work collaboratively with students, staff, families, vendors, and district administration. Create a positive cafeteria experience where students feel welcomed and cared for.
WE'RE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO IS
Dependable, organized, and able to work independently. Positive, professional, and student-focused. An effective communicator and team leader. Knowledgeable about food preparation, safety, and sanitation. Comfortable working in a fast-paced school environment. Experienced in food service or institutional food service preferred. Previous supervisory or school food service experience preferred. Willing to obtain required food safety certifications, if not already certified.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
High school diploma or equivalent and the ability to successfully complete required food safety and school nutrition training.
Preferred:
Food service management, school nutrition, supervisory, or institutional food service experience.
