Family Assistant Location:
Peoria, IL Schedule:
Full-Time, Monday - Friday (Approx. 40 hours/week) Position Overview A warm, highly organized, and proactive family of two physician parents and two energetic young children (ages 3 and 6) is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented House Manager / Family Assistant. The primary role is to ensure the smooth, daily operation of our home, manage routines, prep meals, and occasionally step in for backup childcare if needed.
Key Responsibilities Housekeeping & Organization:
Daily kitchen reset, tidying bedrooms and living spaces, handling routine laundry and folding, managing garbage/recycling routines, and scheduling/overseeing periodic deep cleanings.
Meals & Grocery Management:
Arranging weekly grocery orders/inventory, prepping weekday breakfasts and school lunches for two children, and light meal preparation for the family.
Home Maintenance & Vendor Coordination:
Identifying home maintenance needs, sourcing/scheduling service vendors, and overseeing repairs or deliveries.
Mail & Logistics:
Sorting and organizing daily mail, packages, and returns.
Backup Childcare:
Occasional, urgent backup care (e.g., picking up a child from school) if dedicated care or nearby relatives are unavailable. Qualifications & Hiring Requirements Prior experience in house management, family assisting, or high-level domestic support. Self-starter with high initiative, strong organizational skills, and clear communication. Comfortable around young children with a warm, dependable presence. Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and a clean driving record. CPR/First Aid certification preferred.
Mandatory Background Check & Drug Screening:
Because this position interacts closely with our young children, completion and clearance of a comprehensive background check and drug test prior to employment are strictly required. Compensation & Benefits Competitive hourly rate commensurate with experience. Paid time off, holidays, and guaranteed hours.
