YOUR ROLE
As our Dining Room Manager, you will oversee the daily operation of the dining room and work closely with nursing, dietary, activities, and other departments to provide an outstanding resident dining experience. Key Responsibilities Lead, train, schedule, and support dining room staff Oversee daily dining room operations and meal service Ensure residents receive meals in a timely, respectful, and pleasant manner Promote excellent customer service and resident satisfaction Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming dining environment Ensure proper sanitation, food safety, and infection-control practices are followed Monitor dining room setup, service, and closing procedures Assist with addressing resident concerns, preferences, and special requests Communicate effectively with dietary and nursing staff regarding resident needs Help ensure appropriate meal trays, diets, textures, and dining accommodations are provided Participate in quality improvement efforts related to dining services Maintain appropriate staffing levels and assist with coverage when needed Coach employees and hold staff accountable for performance and professionalism Support a culture of teamwork, compassion, and respect Report directly to the Dietary Director and oversee Cooks, Food Service Assistants and Bakers
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
You are someone who: Has previous supervisory or leadership experience, preferably in food service, hospitality, healthcare, or senior living Has excellent communication and organizational skills Enjoys working with older adults and understands the importance of compassionate service Can confidently lead and motivate a team Is dependable, professional, and detail-oriented Can multitask in a fast-paced environment Is comfortable addressing problems and finding solutions Takes pride in cleanliness, presentation, and customer service Understands the importance of food safety and sanitation Works well as part of a multidisciplinary team Healthcare or long-term care dining experience is a plus.
