Job Summary We are seeking a highly qualified and dynamic Certified Dietary Manager and Food Services Director to lead our dietary and food service operations. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in food service management, dietary supervision, and healthcare nutrition. This role involves overseeing all aspects of food production, ensuring compliance with health regulations, managing budgets, and leading a dedicated team to deliver exceptional nutritional care tailored to our residents' needs. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, management skills, and a comprehensive understanding of clinical nutrition, food safety, and healthcare policies. Duties Lead and manage the dietary department, including supervising food service teams to ensure efficient and high-quality meal preparation and delivery. Develop, implement, and monitor menus that meet nutritional standards and accommodate special dietary needs such as tube feeding, dysphagia management, and care plans. Ensure compliance with all health regulation policies, including food safety management and health code adherence across all food service operations. Oversee food production processes, including meal planning, portion control, and maintaining high standards of food quality and presentation. Manage departmental budgets effectively, including procurement, inventory control, and cost analysis to optimize resource utilization. Conduct patient assessments related to nutrition needs and collaborate with healthcare teams for diagnostic evaluation and care planning. Supervise staff training programs focused on food safety, clinical nutrition practices, EMR/EHR documentation, and regulatory compliance. Maintain accurate records of dietary services using electronic health records (EHR) systems while ensuring data privacy and security. Implement health coaching strategies to promote wellness among residents through tailored nutritional guidance. Stay informed about current regulations in healthcare nutrition, acute care practices, and food service policies to ensure ongoing compliance. Requirements Certification as a Dietary Manager or equivalent credential from a recognized professional organization. Proven experience in dietary department management within assisted living or healthcare settings with a focus on patient-centered nutrition care. Strong knowledge of physiology as it relates to nutrition, clinical nutrition principles, and dietetics practices. Demonstrated ability to manage food service teams effectively while fostering a collaborative work environment. Experience supervising food safety management programs in compliance with health codes and regulations. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for documenting care plans, assessments, and nutritional interventions. Knowledge of budget management principles including procurement processes and cost control strategies. Excellent leadership skills with the ability to train staff on best practices in food production, health regulation policy adherence, and team management. Ability to perform patient assessments involving dietary needs such as tube feeding or dysphagia management accurately. Strong understanding of healthcare policies related to nutrition services in assisted living or acute care environments.
