: Serves as team leader and is responsible for directing all food preparation of the team. Responsible for forecasting production using data history and for the accurate completion of the daily production record. Provides the Manager with grocery and supply order needs. Performs on-site preparation, cooking, and serving of meals. Maintains kitchen area in a safe and sanitary condition, practices excellent customer service, and is responsible for understanding federal and state procedures for claiming meals, including operation of the point of sale system. Provides instruction and training to other food service employees. Maintains professional demeanor and coaches team members as needed to improve productivity and quality.QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or GED Ability to become ServSafe® certified Ability to report to work on time without being frequently absent Supervisory experience preferredESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Follows established federal, state, and local rules and policies Responsible for understanding the basic principles by which the School Breakfast and Lunch Programs are operated, and keeping up to date on current issues and trends by attending mandatory meetings Accurately completes forecast for menu items and submits data on time Accurately completes daily production records.OPERATIONS
Directs the production of the team's menu responsibilities and ensures work is completed efficiently and safely, producing high-quality results Cashier, serve or cook during meal service as directed by the Manager Trains other staff on equipment, weights, and measure,s and/or point of sale system Fills in for the Food Service Manager when absentNUTRITION
Reads and understands how to follow recipes and determine yield amounts Prepares food according to standardized recipes without unauthorized substitutions Prepares special diets according to the Food Allergy Plan Sets up and displays the serving line in an attractive and efficient manner Maintains health, safety, and sanitation standards for staff, students, and equipment at all times. Required to obtain ServSafe® certification.COMMUNICATION
Develops excellent organizational skills and meets regularly with the team Responsible for maintaining a professional and courteous attitude with fellow employees, staff, and students. Assists with marketing and promotions Understands principles of email communication. Checks email often and responds courteously in a timely manner.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

The employee must be able to move/lift up to 50 pounds, such as milk crates, cases of frozen or canned food, portable equipment, etc. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception and peripheral vision, and color vision.WORK ENVIRONMENT
