Job description Description SFE is looking for an Kitchen Manager to Support the General Manager of Food Services with all aspects of the operations including but not limited to: Production, HR, Finance, Marketing, etc. Assist the AGM and GM with overseeing and coordinating the planning, organizing, training and leadership necessary to achieve stated objectives in sales, costs, employee retention, customer service, food quality, cleanliness, sanitation and district satisfaction.
Responsibilities :
Ensure that all food and products are consistently prepared and served according to SFE recipes, portioning, cooking, and serving standards Achieve company objectives in sales, service, quality, the appearance of the facility, and sanitation/cleanliness through training of employees and creating a positive, productive working environment Control cash and other receipts by adhering to cash handling and reconciliation procedures in accordance with SFE and the district's policies and procedures Make employment and termination decisions consistent with General Manager's guidelines for approval or review Fill in where needed to ensure the ultimate customer service experience as well as maintain efficient operations Continually strive to develop your staff in all areas of managerial and professional development Communicate with district administrators/clients to ensure expectations are being met Ensure that all products are received in correct unit count and condition and deliveries are performed in accordance with SFE and district receiving policies and procedures Oversee and ensure that SFE policies on employee performance appraisals are followed and completed on a timely basis Work with district staff and GM to schedule labor as required by using M.P.L.H. (Meals Per Labor Hour) while ensuring that all positions are staffed when and as needed and labor cost objectives are met Ensure that all students, staff, and parents feel welcome and are given responsive, friendly, and courteous service at all times Fully understand and comply with all applicable federal, state, county, and municipal laws, regulations, and rules including those that pertain to health, safety and labor requirements in regard to SFE, district employees, customers and operations Provide advice and suggestions to GM as needed Assist GM with monthly manager meetings and training Ensure that the Company's operations for which this position is responsible follow sound financial practices, comply with applicable legal requirements and comply with established practices in all regards Responsible for the supervision and evaluation of subordinate employees Responsible and accountable for all aspects of the activities and operations related to the site to which you are assigned and for the duties within the scope of the position's responsibilities Ensure accurate policies and procedures are being followed regarding the POS system/meal accounting process Other duties, as assigned Qualifications 2+ years of foodservice experience, school foodservice preferred High school diploma or equivelent Basic knowledge of food and beverage typically seen in front-of-the-house operations and/or assistant management positions Possess basic math skills and have the ability to operate a cash register or POS system Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook - and the Google equivalents. Must be able to communicate clearly and professionally with other Managers, Directors, Administrators, students and parents Physical Demands & Work Environment Ability to speak, read, write and understand English Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 5 hours) Be physically able to lift, reach, bend and stoop frequently lift up to 50 pounds Be able to safely lift and easily maneuver cases of food frequently weighing from 25 to 40 pounds We are an Equal Opportunity Employer (Gender/Minority/Veterans/Disabled) and participate with the federal E-Verify Employment Eligibility Program.
