Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Sous Chef/Kitchen Manager to help lead our culinary team and oversee daily kitchen operations. This energetic role requires a passionate leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, ensuring exceptional food quality, safety standards, and efficient service. As a key member of our management team, you will drive culinary excellence, manage staff, and uphold the highest standards of food safety and sanitation. Your expertise will help create memorable dining experiences while maintaining smooth kitchen workflows and controlling costs. Duties Supervise and coordinate kitchen activities, including food preparation, cooking, and plating to ensure top-quality dishes are delivered consistently. Lead and manage the culinary team, providing training, mentorship, and performance feedback to foster a motivated and skilled staff. Oversee inventory management, including ordering supplies, controlling food costs, and minimizing waste through effective inventory control practices. Ensure compliance with food safety sanitizing procedures and health regulations to maintain a safe and clean working environment. Plan menus in collaboration with executive chefs or management, incorporating dietary requirements and catering needs for various events including banquets. Manage shift schedules, coordinate staffing levels for busy periods, and ensure smooth operations during service hours. Oversee catering operations and banquet functions, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality food for large groups or special events. Monitor food production processes to maintain consistency in taste, presentation, and portion control across all outlets. Implement cost control measures to optimize profitability without compromising quality or guest satisfaction. Maintain open communication with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery and guest satisfaction. Requirements Proven experience in fine dining environments with strong culinary skills and leadership capabilities. Supervising experience in a high-volume kitchen setting is essential. Extensive knowledge of food safety sanitizing procedures, food handling protocols, and sanitation standards. Demonstrated ability in menu planning, food preparation, and catering operations including banquet experience. Strong background in inventory management, cost control, and kitchen management systems. Experience managing teams as a chef or kitchen manager with excellent leadership skills. Knowledge of dietary department requirements and accommodating special dietary needs. Familiarity with restaurant management software and inventory control tools is preferred. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently.
