The ideal candidate will have experience in a kitchen and will be comfortable working alone to prepare and serve meals and snacks to the children in our care. Prior experience is preferred, but not required. Candidates with prior experience (particularly in an early learning center), a valid ServSafe Food Handler certification, or a valid ServSafe Manager certification will be given special consideration. If they don't already have it, the successful candidate will be required to obtain their ServSafe Food Manager certification within the first six months of employment. Our team members work together to create a safe, healthy, and fun environment for children 6 weeks through five years old. The cook/kitchen manager is a vital member of our team and works closely with classroom and administrative staff to ensure that every child is served a nutrious breakfast, lunch, and snack every day. The cook/kitchen manager is responsible for following all Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) guidelines and adhering to all local and state health department regulations. Other responsibilities include receiving and putting away food orders, rotating stock, taking a weekly food inventory, dishes, and cleaning/sanitizing the kitchen daily. We offer competitive pay based on experience and qualifications and guarantee regular performance-based raises. We offer a flexible work schedule with eight paid holidays per year, and team members begin earning additional paid time off with the very first hour worked.
