Team/Role We are looking for an experienced leader to join the Client Platform Engineering team to build and scale our endpoint management tooling. A successful candidate will have demonstrated previous success in similar role(s) in rapidly growing, security-first environments. The right person is passionate about infrastructure as code, open source tooling, automation, and securely managing endpoints at scale. Willingness to be a leader as well as a doer is a must! What you'll be doing Lead and mentor a team of highly talented engineers on a team that combines traditional operations responsibilities and active contributions to the development and deployment of cloud-native endpoint management systems, fostering a DevOps culture that emphasizes collaboration and automation Partner across Coinbase to oversee execution of a long-term strategy to meet our security, reliability, and scaling goals including the design, implementation, and maintenance of performant, reliable, and secure system architectures Develop team members to have a positive impact on the organization and support their career growth Own operational excellence, documentation, delivery, and health across system lifecycle Facilitate incident response, conduct root cause analysis, and blameless retrospectives Define metrics and bolster monitoring/observability across endpoint management systems Work closely with our talent organization to identify and recruit exceptional engineers who align with Coinbase culture tenets Raise the bar on AI usage across the team to deliver impacts What we look for in you 5+ years of experience building, iterating upon, and maintaining endpoint management systems 5+ years of experience with cloud infrastructure and application development Deep domain-knowledge managing client platforms at scale including MacOS, Windows, VDI, ChromeOS, iOS, and Android Demonstrated success developing and implementing prominent endpoint management tooling: JAMF, FleetDM, Intune, Munki, SaltStack, AutoPkg, Google Workspace, Santa, etc. Experience managing CI/CD workflows, automation frameworks, and managing modern open source tooling such as: Terraform, Ansible, Kubernetes, Docker Fluency in a modern programming language (Golang, Python, etc.) Strong experience using and managing AWS, GCP, Azure, or other cloud environments with IaC Ability to balance leadership with hands-on delivery including writing/reviewing code, technical documentation, and participating in on-call rotations Clear communication—demonstrate ability to explain technical concepts simply Self starter—possess a continuous learning mindset Demonstrate critical thinking under pressure Demonstrates the ability to responsibly use generative AI tools and copilots (e.g., LibreChat, Gemini, Glean) in daily workflows, continuously learn as tools evolve, and apply human‑in‑the‑loop practices to deliver business‑ready outputs and drive measurable improvements in efficiency, cost, and quality.
