We are a small, close-knit community where residents and staff know one another by name and meals are an important part of daily life. We are looking for an experienced Kitchen Manager / Head Cook to lead our kitchen. This is a hands-on position. You will cook regularly while supervising the additional cooks who provide breakfast, lunch, dinner, and weekend coverage. This is not a high-volume restaurant or large institutional kitchen. It is also not an executive chef position focused on fine dining or managing a large culinary team. We are looking for someone who enjoys preparing consistent, home-style meals and taking ownership of a small kitchen. What You'll Do Prepare home-style meals for approximately 25 to 30 residents Supervise and provide direction to cooks covering breakfast, lunch, dinner, and weekends Train kitchen staff and maintain consistent food preparation and sanitation procedures Manage food ordering, inventory, kitchen supplies, and food costs Maintain consistency in food quality, portions, and presentation Accommodate resident dietary requirements and preferences Maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen Complete required food safety, sanitation, and kitchen documentation Collaborate with our consulting dietitian as required Coordinate coverage for weekday and weekend kitchen callouts Step in and cover a kitchen shift when adequate coverage is unavailable What We're Looking For 2 or more years of relevant cooking experience Previous lead, supervisory, or kitchen management experience preferred Experience with food ordering and inventory management Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation ServSafe certification Strong organizational and communication skills Reliable attendance and a willingness to take ownership of the kitchen Ability to work independently while effectively supervising others Schedule & Coverage This is primarily a daytime position with a regular schedule. As the Kitchen Manager, you are responsible for helping ensure the kitchen is appropriately staffed seven days a week. When another cook calls out, you will coordinate coverage whenever possible. If coverage is unavailable, you must be willing to step in when needed, including occasional weekday, evening, or weekend shifts.
