About the Role We are an independently owned and operated Popeyes franchise restaurant looking for a motivated, dependable, and guest-focused Assistant Manager to help lead daily restaurant operations and support a high-performing team. This role is ideal for someone with restaurant, retail, hospitality, or quick-service management experience who enjoys developing people, delivering great guest service, and helping drive business results. Help create a positive restaurant culture based on respect, accountability, teamwork, and great guest service. Train new employees and ensure team members complete required training programs. Communicate job expectations clearly and provide ongoing feedback to improve performance. Support the development of Crew Members into Shift Leaders and Shift Leaders into Assistant Managers. Help prepare team schedules and ensure the restaurant is properly staffed for all shifts. Promote a professional, respectful, and productive work environment. Guest Service Ensure every guest receives friendly, fast, accurate, and high-quality service. Respond quickly and professionally to guest concerns or complaints. Take appropriate action to turn dissatisfied guests into returning guests. Set the example for hospitality, positive communication, and problem-solving. Maintain a welcoming restaurant atmosphere for guests and team members. Restaurant Operations Manage daily shift operations, including staffing, product quality, cleanliness, speed of service, and guest satisfaction. Support the Restaurant General Manager in executing restaurant goals and company standards. Monitor restaurant performance and take action to improve service, quality, and efficiency. Ensure proper opening, shift change, and closing procedures are followed. Investigate and help resolve concerns related to food quality, service, or restaurant operations. Complete assigned reports, checklists, and administrative tasks accurately and on time. Food Safety, Cleanliness, and Quality Maintain a clean, safe, secure, and healthy restaurant environment for guests and employees. Follow and enforce food safety, sanitation, and health department standards. Ensure consistent, high-quality food preparation and presentation. Maintain proper portion control and product preparation to reduce waste. Uphold company standards for uniforms, appearance, cleanliness, and restaurant image. Complete food safety checks, quality assessments, and required operational reviews. Maintain ServSafe standards and support compliance with all food safety requirements. Inventory and Cost Control Help manage food, paper, and supply inventory. Place or assist with orders from distributors and vendors. Monitor product usage and reduce waste. Maintain accurate inventory records. Help control food costs, labor costs, and other controllable expenses. Support loss prevention efforts and ensure company procedures are followed. Financial and Administrative Duties Help drive sales by maintaining excellent service, speed, quality, and cleanliness. Complete payroll, personnel, cash handling, and financial administrative duties accurately and on time. Follow all company policies and procedures related to financial controls. Support restaurant profitability by controlling costs and improving operational performance. Assist with audits, reports, and compliance checks as needed. Safety and Compliance Ensure a safe working environment for employees and guests. Follow all federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Complete accident or incident reports promptly and accurately when needed. Follow company policies related to safety, security, cash handling, food safety, and loss prevention. Communicate important issues, concerns, or opportunities to the Restaurant General Manager in a timely manner. QualificationsRequired Previous leadership, supervisory, restaurant, retail, or customer service experience preferred. Ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication and problem-solving skills. Ability to deliver excellent guest service. Basic understanding of restaurant operations, food safety, labor control, and inventory preferred. Ability to work varying shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Ability to stand for long periods and work in a fast-paced restaurant environment. Reliable transportation and dependable attendance. Must meet age requirements for the position based on state and local laws. ServSafe Certification preferred, or ability to obtain certification within company-required timeframe. Preferred 1 or more years of restaurant management or shift leadership experience. Quick-service restaurant experience. Experience with scheduling, inventory, food cost control, and cash handling. Experience training and developing team members. Bilingual skills are a plus. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and move throughout the shift. Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to [insert weight, such as 25-50 lbs.] as needed. Ability to work around hot equipment, cleaning products, and food preparation areas. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.
