SUMMARY:
The Banquet Beverage Manager at the Amway Grand Plaza is responsible for overseeing the service of all banquet bars at the hotel, convention center, and off-premise catering venues. This includes ensuring guest satisfaction, maintaining division standards, and maximizing profits. The Banquet Beverage Manager will supervise the banquet bar staff, Banquet Captains, control labor expenses, manage inventory, and prepare necessary paperwork. Additionally, the Banquet Beverage Manager will participate in hospitality programs and maintain a professional demeanor at all times. At times the Banquet Beverage Manager will participate in overseeing the banquet staff as well.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Directly supervise banquet bartenders and Banquet Captains Maintain a well-organized work area and provide fast and courteous service to guests Communicate with clients, catering managers, banquet and bar staff on the set up of each event Ensure adherence to hotel service standards, control labor expenses, and manage inventory Greet guests with warmth and enthusiasm and attend to their needs during their stay Prepare bar inventory paperwork and end of night paperwork Learn and follow all hotel policies and procedures, including uniform standards and safety protocols Maintain a professional demeanor and represent the AGPH positively to ensure guest satisfaction Follow established guidelines, procedures, and policies Oversee and monitor daily banquet bar/banquet operations Supervise, coordinate, and post schedules on a weekly basis Maintain organization of banquet bar service areas and service equipment Maintain energy conservation, loss prevention, and recycling programs Train bar staff to maintain service standards and profit margins Ensure grooming standards and appearance of all banquet bar staff are maintained Check BEO and function sheets against actual set up and menus and follow up on all details to ensure successful events Maintain up-to-date details on banquet functions and communicate changes to bar staff Maintain high levels of sanitation and cleanliness in service areas - Be visible in public space during all bar periods to ensure guest needs are met - Order, receive, and rotate product Maintain tight control of alcohol inventory at all times Maintain a professional rapport with Catering and Sales Managers, Executive Chef, and F&B staff Attend meetings as required Attend to other duties as assigned This position requires weekend work, as it is essential to the role. If you are unable to work weekends (Saturday and Sundays) you would not be eligible for this position.
REQUIRED SKILLS
Ability to work a flexible schedule including second shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays to observe and assist with food & beverage operations Excellent people management skills, conflict resolution, coaching and development, promoting teamwork, and performance management Knowledge of various beverage trends and labor cost control Must become a routine user of all Amway Hotel Collection Catering and convention systems (Delphi, CI/TY, Time and attendance, Microsoft Word and change logs and routing systems) Ability to schedule, train, discipline and direct

Ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy items, and perform physical tasks associated with event service.
Professional Appearance:
Maintain a neat and professional appearance in accordance with company standards.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
A four year degree from an accredited college or University is preferred. 2+ years experience in a supervisor/mangement role in food and beverage Strong leadership qualities are needed ServSafe Certified preferred

Compensation:
$60,000-$65,000/annually
