Job Description

Location:
Minneapolis, MN (on-site role; reliable personal vehicle required) Reports to:
Principal Schedule:
Full-time, weekday daytime hours with occasional flexibility
ABOUT THE ROLE
We're hiring a House Manager & Personal Assistant to run the day-to-day operations of a busy private household with the same rigor a great executive assistant brings to a C-suite. This is a hands-on role for someone who takes genuine pride in a well-run home and treats the role as a craft — not a stopgap. You'll be the person who makes sure the household hums: groceries stocked, schedule tight, vendors coordinated, and the small stuff handled before anyone has to ask. The right person is part operator, part executor, part trusted right hand. Discretion, judgment, and follow-through matter as much as the task list.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Household Operations Weekly grocery shopping and pantry/fridge management; anticipate needs rather than wait to be asked Light housekeeping: tidying, laundry, linens, dishes, surface cleaning, keeping common areas guest-ready at all times Manage household supplies, restocking, and returns Coordinate with cleaners, landscapers, handymen, deliveries, and other vendors — schedule them, let them in, hold them accountable to quality Personal Assistant Support Run errands: dry cleaning, pharmacy, post office, gifts, returns, vehicle service, and the long tail of weekly to-dos Calendar coordination for personal appointments and family logistics Inbox triage for personal correspondence as needed Travel prep: packing, itineraries, reservations, pre-trip and post-trip household readiness Handle one-off projects: organizing closets, sourcing items, managing repairs, prepping for events at the house Occasional childcare support Coordination & Communication Serve as the point person for household staff and external vendors Maintain a clear shared system (lists, calendars, notes) so nothing falls through the cracks Provide a brief weekly update on what's been done, what's pending, and what needs a decision
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Track record. 2+ years in a house manager, personal assistant, executive assistant, estate management, or hospitality role. References that speak to reliability and discretion. Or a can-do attitude. A car and a clean driving record. Non-negotiable. Daily driving is core to the role; mileage reimbursed. Genuinely hard-working. Self-starter who sees what needs doing and does it. Comfortable with both polished tasks and rolling-up-sleeves work. Highly organized. Lists, systems, and follow-through are second nature. You don't drop balls. Discreet and trustworthy. You'll have access to the home, schedules, and personal information. Confidentiality is absolute. Strong communicator. Clear, concise, professional — in person, by text, and over email. Service mindset. You take ownership, push back when it makes sense, and treat the role as a partnership. Tech-comfortable. Calendars, shared docs, messaging apps, basic spreadsheets — you can navigate the standard toolkit without hand-holding.
Nice to have:
experience managing other household staff, light bookkeeping, familiarity with Minneapolis vendors and services, basic cooking skills.
WHAT YOU'LL GET
Competitive salary commensurate with experience Stable, long-term role with a principal who values the function and treats the person in it as essential A household that's organized, respectful, and clear about expectations If this sounds like you, we welcome you to apply. Strictly Minneapolis and the surrounding area only, with a valid driver's license and reliable personal vehicle. Please include a brief note with your application explaining what draws you to this type of role.
